Archangel was founded by people who spent decades inside the security industry watching the same failure mode repeat. The technology didn't exist. So they built it.
Where This Came From
We built what we couldn't find.
The founding team came out of the security industry, not the software industry. Decades of combined experience across venues, construction, logistics and commercial operations. They knew, from direct experience, what the failure mode looked like: the incident that happened anyway, the footage that existed, the report that got written, and the question that never had a good answer: why didn't we stop it?
They looked for the tool. It didn't exist. Not in the form they needed it. Not purpose-built for prevention rather than documentation. Not built on the operational knowledge of people who'd actually managed these environments.
So they built it.
Why Archangel
An archangel is a guardian.
Not a watchman. Not a recorder. A guardian.
The name was deliberate. When you're building technology for environments where the stakes are real, you'd better believe in what you're doing. Archangel Protect isn't a brand line. It's the whole point.
There's a meaningful difference between watching something happen and stopping it. Between documenting an incident and preventing one. That difference is what Archangel was built around.
The People Behind It

All of it pointing at the same problem.
The team that built Archangel didn't come from a technology background first. They came from security operations: the venues, the sites, the control rooms, the incident reports. They've managed the environments the system now protects.
That experience shapes every decision in the product. The detection behaviours Archangel identifies aren't theoretical. They're the specific behaviours that security professionals know precede incidents, because they've seen them happen.

Archangel's technology is built and server-hosted in the UK. Every frame processed by our system stays in the UK, under UK law.
In a market where the origins and data practices of surveillance technology are under increasingly sharp scrutiny, that matters. We know who built this. We know where the data goes. We can answer those questions because the answers are straightforward.
We're working toward SOC 2, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certification. Our GDPR compliance framework is being developed with specialist legal counsel. We're building this properly.
