Detection

Slip, Trip & Fall Detection

Detect workplace falls, slip incidents, and trip hazards the moment they happen. Archangel triggers immediate response alerts to reduce injury severity and response times.

How It Works

Under the hood

The slip, trip and fall model analyses body posture transitions in real time. It recognises the distinct motion pattern of a fall: the sudden loss of vertical posture, the uncontrolled descent, and the horizontal or collapsed body position that follows. This is different from someone bending down, sitting on the floor, or crouching to pick something up.

The model distinguishes between different types of falls. A slip produces a distinctive backward or sideways motion pattern. A trip creates a forward stumble with hands extended. A collapse from a medical event has its own signature. The system classifies the fall type in the alert, which helps responders prepare the right assistance.

Once a fall is detected, the system checks whether the person gets up within a configurable time window. If they remain on the ground, the alert escalates to indicate a potential injury. The alert includes the fall classification, location, and live camera feed so responders can assess the situation before arriving.

Why It Matters

The real-world impact

Falls are the most common cause of workplace injury. The severity of a fall injury often depends on response time. Someone lying injured in a quiet corner of a warehouse, a car park stairwell, or a back-of-house corridor might not be found for minutes or hours.

Archangel eliminates that delay. Every fall is detected immediately, and alerts go to the right people instantly. Faster first aid means better outcomes. The incident log also helps identify dangerous areas, enabling preventive measures like additional lighting, non-slip surfaces, or layout changes where falls occur most frequently.

Capabilities

What it detects

Purpose-built detection models tuned for real-world conditions and operational environments.

Instant Fall Detection

Recognises the biomechanical pattern of falls in under one second, distinguishing genuine falls from intentional movements like sitting or bending.

Fall Type Classification

Classifies incidents as slips, trips, or collapses, giving responders advance information about the likely injury type before they arrive.

Person-Down Escalation

If the person doesn't stand within a configurable time window, the alert escalates to indicate a potential serious injury requiring immediate assistance.

Incident Hotspot Mapping

Logs every fall with location data, building a heatmap of high-risk areas over time. Use this to prioritise safety improvements where they're needed most.
