How It Works
Under the hood
The unattended item model works by tracking the relationship between objects and people. When a bag, package, or other portable object appears in the scene, the system associates it with the nearest person. If that person moves away and the object remains stationary, a timer begins.
The timer threshold is configurable by zone. In a busy train station concourse, a bag left for 30 seconds might trigger an alert. In an airport departure lounge, the threshold might be longer because people leave bags at seats while getting coffee. The system is smart enough to recognise when a different person picks up the item versus when it remains truly unattended.
When the threshold is reached, security receives an alert showing the item location, the moment it was left, and the direction the owner moved. This gives them the context to make quick decisions about response level, from a routine check to a full security protocol.
